avast! TEAM in the Prague International Marathon

According to the Prague International Marathon (PIM) website, “If you like discovering the undiscovered, running alongside a river and meandering through the heart of a medieval capital city, then the Volkswagen Prague Marathon is for you.”

Several AVAST Software team members apparently like those sorts of things enough that they ran 42km in the 2011 Volkswagen Prague Marathon, which began and ended at Prague's historic Old Town Square on May 8, 2011.

The first Prague International Marathon (in 1995) included fewer than 1,000 runners. By 2010, about 8,000 participated. Ranked seventh fastest in 2010, it has been voted one of the top 10 marathons worldwide.

Since inception, PIM races have been sponsored by Volkswagen, Mattoni, adidas, and others, and the races have drawn a list of athletes that includes Haile Gebrselassie, Stefano Baldini, Paul Tergat, Moses Tanui, and Antonio Pinto.

And now to that impressive list of athletes we can add Martin Zima, Jitka Spackova, Kristyna Salatova, and Milos Korenko… the avast! Running Team 2011. :)
